About me

“Oh, there will pass with your great passing

Little of beauty not your own —

Only the light from common water,

Only the grace from simple stone.”

I believe that the world was made for me. It is my playground. The poetry of the eternal, yet everyday story serenades me– the rhythmic tones sing in my heart. Packed full of emotion and beauty, the world cries out for enjoyment just as every soul cries out for love. The one whose heart is in love will see the beauty of all things.

Grass breaks through the concrete sidewalk, a flower blooms in the deadness of fall, and forgiveness transforms the hardened enemy into a friend that sticks closer than a brother. Love is alpha and omega–beginning and end.

From “Let there be” to “It is Finished”, Love exists eternally. Timeless, yes. But a never ending flow from the premeditated idea of the creation of beings that would enjoy His love. He would call these beings “good”. Yes, man is created good. In the image of God, He created us. That image remains.

I have heard it said that “God created a being that would intrigue him forever.” I couldn’t agree more, for there is much mystery in love. As a Father looks upon his child who chases the butterfly, so the Heavenly Father looks upon us. We intrigue him and hold his gaze. Yes, he is still smiling at me.

There is mystery in the existence of the universe, and beautiful is the fact that there is existence at all.

….

I live above my means as they say. I enjoy good books, good cigars, and good coffee. To say I am spiritual may be an understatement. I am an amateur theologian. It is my passion and joy to study the church, the Bible, and to enjoy the beauty of the story. I am a bit of a Christian new mystic for I believe in an experiential relationship with God, a relationship where I rest and allow His grace and love take over all my current physical and mental circumstances.

As for denominational ties, I believe that we are all one already. As for the structure of the way I “do church”, I am apart of simple churches.
