Back to the Himalayas!

Hello friends and family,

INTRODUCTION:

I would like to announce that I will be returning to Southeast Asia from January 1-January 16. If you remember, I went to India in January of 2011 to doing a CPx training. CPx is a house church planting training that equips the students to go to every culture to plant nontraditional churches that focus on intimacy with Jesus, making disciples, and  using each society’s culture as a medium to worship God in their own unique way.

Goals for the Trip:

In January 2011, our focus was on training the students on foundational truths such as identity in Christ, intimacy with the Spirit, making disciples, and planting house churches. The goals of this trip are to spend more one on one time with the students so that we can do more individual discipleship. The way that we plan on doing this is to travel to areas that have no believers*, preach the gospel by word and power, and to plant a house church among the new believers in which the students will shepherd.

*An unbeliever is simply one who does not believe what God believes about them. -Francois du Toit, author of the Mirror Translation.

Let’s Be Honest:

The nation goes to great lengths to keep people out by setting the visa prices at $200 per day. The plane tickets to this country are quite expensive as well, so needless to say, I need some money. I am a poor college kid with a minimum wage job. There is no way for me to accomplish this dream without your help. Please partner with my heart to spread the free gospel of grace to the whole world! Whether you live in Austin, Abilene, Dallas, or Lubbock, I am sure that the stories that I come back with will encourage you and utterly blow your mind. So, let’s be honest: I need your money. haha. If you can only donate a little bit right now, that is totally fine. Even if you want to split up your donation over the next couple months, that’s cool as well.

Love Bids Me, “Go”.

10 “I am my beloved’s,
And his desire is for me.
11 “Come, my beloved, let us go out into the [a]country,
Let us spend the night in the villages.-Song of Songs 7:10-11

When I think about going on this trip, I think about this verse. First of all, I want to be honest, I am so in love with Jesus. I don’t want to water that down at all. I am. I am deeply in love, in fact, head over heels in love with Jesus. His love is the light by which I see life. All I see is beauty and grace. I hear poetry in my heart constantly. I simply cannot help but see the world this way. A life in love with Jesus is total bliss. That being said, I am in love I cannot contain it. Yes, I can be liked to the guy jumping on Oprah’s couch; the world must know about this love. It is my delight to “go into the country, and…spend the night in the villages.” Missions is this Song of Songs 7:10-11. I am in love, and now I go with Jesus to show the world what it looks like to be in love. How amazing would it be if everyone was in love?!
